Expert care at the Hoffman Center for Integrative Medicine includes the advice of a physician licensed in and for the Province of Alberta. Any other advice beyond the scope of this area is recommended, if necessary or necessary. The health professionals at The Hoffman Centre will always recommend a full evaluation of a patient before recommending any health treatment, nutrition, medication or cleaning. Naturopathic medicine isn't covered by Alberta Health Services (AHS), but it's often covered by expanded health care benefits.
Many of our patients with expanded health care benefits are covered for 40 to 100% of visit charges. We recommend that you call your extended care benefit provider before your visit to find out what your coverage is. We also offer direct billing services to reduce your out-of-pocket costs and take care of the hassle of insurance paperwork. Naturopathic medicine has joined other regulated health professions under the Alberta Health Professions Act.
Naturopathic medicine is not currently covered by AHC; however, many private insurance companies do offer coverage. A receipt will be given to you after your visit that will allow you to submit a refund request. If you think you need more support during your quest for optimal health, your naturopathic doctor will be more than happy to see you. IFM's Find A Practitioner tool is the largest reference network in functional medicine, created to help patients locate functional medicine professionals anywhere in the world.
The Find A Practitioner referral network is designed to locate functional medicine professionals who meet your needs. Functional Medicine takes a 30,000 foot view of your health to see how all your symptoms and illnesses are connected. Therefore, by understanding the body's core systems, how they are related, and how their function can be restored, many chronic diseases can be prevented and even reversed. Through a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach to integrative medicine in Calgary, we will return you to optimal health.
Unlike conventional healthcare, Functional Medicine examines your underlying conditions to understand the root cause of your illness. By law, the Hoffman Center for Integrative Medicine is not legally allowed to make health or healing claims to patients or consumers for treatment benefits or items purchased online or in-clinic. It relies on a combination of scientific and holistic methods to diagnose and treat its Functional Medicine patients, while keeping its patients fully involved in their recovery. Those who hold the “IFM Certified Practitioner” badge are licensed and practicing healthcare professionals who have completed the IFM Certification Program, which is the highest level of education available in functional medicine.
